^Q^ Wow you got some really nice Bird profiles of the snake eagle, bateleur and white headed vulture \O

 Also enjoy the scenery with the Giraffe .

A leopard is a leopard and that one looks like he doesn't have time to waste on posing for these silly people, just glad he listened to your request for a face shot lol

I love the giraffe shots too.

What an old leopard!

Those cactuses (prickly pears) are invaders and should be removed ASAP! @#$

When do you decide on your routes, the night before? -O-

Although must say the prickly pears do look lovely in that vegetation - Normaly we always do have our must drive roads which we do at least once or even more often. At least the roads we want to drive on our morning drive we decide roughly the evening before - Sometimes friendly passengers are telling something about nice sightings then we decide whether to pay a visit there or to stick to our plans or when standing at a crossroad we sometimes turn into another road. The afternoon drives depend on what we saw and whether to pay another visit there or to decide on other roads or when we are too tired we simply stay in camp :-)

Slightly the mist started to clear up a bit and so we stopped for the general game along that road

Image

with lots of zebras

Image

and wildebeests around.

Image

Another car stood then right in the middle of the road and so we also soon discovered an impressive martial eagle on a branch extreme close

Image

with a kill in its claw on which same was feeding actively.

Image

We spotted a grey heron on the look out after the martial eagle had finished its breakfast

Image

and then it was lifer time as we stopped for a bronze winged courser

Image

a bird still on our wish list and we were finally happy that we could tick same off today.

Image

We unfortunately chased up a buffalo bull who was enjoying his private spa but luckily after we carried on he simply laid down again

Image

but therefore we had to be patient as an elephant bull popped out of the dense vegetation.

Image

Lots of Swallows already joined us the whole way and finally we could capture them whilst resting on a bush

and the closer we came finally Leeubron the more general game could be seen such as zebras

Image

and lots of giraffes

Image

who obviously found it funny to block the road and stare at us.

Image

At least meanwhile the mist cleared away and the sun came out and after lot of pleasantly bearable days it started to heat us already.

Image

That elephant bull luckily could already keep a cool head

Image

and we had to photograph one of those breath taking views along that beautiful road.

Image

Close to Timbavati picnic spot one had to cross the sand spruit and today lots of woodland kingfishers were hanging around there

Image

and started to put a display show together.

Image

Needless to say that with their famous noise

Image

which seems to come from nearly every corner now

Image

we were extreme entertained by their

Image

posing, displaying and singing.

Image

to be continued……………………..
