Beautiful birds

We do simply love each feathered friend

Just catching up again Pumba

What a stunning Lion sighting .So many flies on one Lion .

Love the Baboon drinking and the bee eaters

Yes, the flies were a pest on the lions - I simply love that baboon mom

[Pumbaa]

Aminals all over the place,Pumbaa!

I like the baboon setup!

What a swarm of flies on that male...must be the meat on him!

Or at least rest of blood from the kill and yes we had a fantastic day that day

Naughty giraffe! It's sticking its tongue out at me

The birdies are beautiful as always

And I like that photo of the steenbok in the high grass. Pretty

At me too Luckily we could spot all these little steenbokkies in the high grass

Finally we stood again at Gudzani were the hippos were still there



and we also enjoyed that stunning view for the very last time during that trip



and as often we could not drag ourselves away and so we simply stayed a bit longer there.



Wistfully we drove slowly along the S100 although same stayed quiet this year we simply love that road. Around Shibotwana we noticed a group of baboons spread over nearly the whole area whilst some simply sat back and relaxed



others enjoyed the ride



whilst others were on the look out.



The ones in the grass could hardly be seen but it was in fact a large group which had to be looked after from high above.



A male waterbuck also had to be captured as he was posing so nicely



behind a tree wheres his ladies already walked in the deep and thick vegetation.



For sure we had to stop for another brown snake eagle which were indeed plentiful this year in the park



and so were the giraffes



plus one of their youngsters.



More baboons now occurred in thick trees

and do not know what Timon was photographing here but simply love the vegetation shot.



In one of the last loops to drive we today spotted two buffalo bulls



who enjoyed their private spa



and also that lovely spot they had chosen for them.



On the roadside in a tree lots of vultures were hanging around





and then already close to Satara in a tree close to a private entry road a group of ground hornbills



put a show together.



With their long bills they were fiddling in the rotten tree bark



and for sure lots of bark fell down



and as it was midday lots of cars piled up at that sighting all on the way back to camp



but obviously their show also were at their liking as well



we for sure stayed quite a while with them and returned then back to camp for a longer break there on our verandah and for a quick shopping tour to the camp shop not to forget about the ice cream as well.

Great sequence of the ground hornbills

Going back a couple pages - some of the lions almost look like they have some "white lion" genes As always, love the birds, esp. the vulture tree and the ground hornbills (naturally ). Baboons are always good for smiles!
