There has been some debate on the Sanparks Kruger FB page .It appears the rules have been changed on the entry pamphlet and now it is being queried why and when this was changed .Posting here for members who are not on FB.

Looking for official clarification from SANParks please. We were given this updated leaflet with our permit in January at Skukuza airport. It has changed from previous versions and now says “Vehicle doors, WINDOWS, sunroof and convertibles should remain closed at all times” Is this a rule change or a misprint? We asked at camp reception and were told “it’s always been windows closed.” we knew that wasn’t right so I emailed on my return but have got no response yet. Heading back to the park this Friday so would like to know. Thanks
So far no official confirmation is forthcoming but some have posted screenshots of older rules that clearly show open windows are allowed and in fact they are encouraged ...

Must be one of their usual typo mistakes. Nobody would go to Kruger, if you have to keep your windows closed. It's not even worth the trouble to ask.

How can they expect visitors to drive around with windows closed when OSV's are allowed in the park?

I was really annoyed to hear today, that family of close friends of ours, were FINED R 1500.00 in Kruger, near Lower Sabie, because the ladies arm was protruding from the car whilst taking a photograph. This is their first visit to SA from Germany!! I am aware that the General Rules say that no window may be open nor that any body part may protrude from the vehicle but is this for REAL??? Getting out of your car, sitting with your bum on the window ledge, having yourself protrude thru a sun roof - I GET!!! But having an open window to take a photograph - I simply DON'T get!!!!!!
