The leopard is HUGE and looks like a character from the Jungle Book!

He was indeed such a powerful specimen

The bush was certainly alive for you this trip! Had to take some time to view all your gorgeous photos posted while I was away from the Forum, but was wonderful time well spent! I see some of my favorites were also nominated in various categories, so will look forward to seeing them again when I vote

Yes, that road is quiet tourist-wise, but also sometimes animal-wise...so nice to see big 5 there!

S36 is the best Cheetah Road in the park ..Great for sable too ..Love it ..its the one reason I venture south of Olifants River

FANTASTIC sighting of the Black Coucal !!!! only ever really seen in very wet seasons when a very few pop over from Mozambique

Great pics of all the Red Billed Oxpeckers hitch Hiking ..Showing immatures as well with the dark Bills

and a cute and very active white-browed scrub-robin

Probably has the prettiest call of all birds in Kruger ..Love hearing and seeing them in Camp

We stopped for more wildebeests,





a couple of crowned plovers





a picturesque positioned tree



full of vultures



and a pair of brown snake eagles on top of a large nest and both were busy in building on that nest.



The village indigo bird could only be captured as same was about to leave but I nevertheless love that shot although same is a bit blurred.



All in all it was a quiet drive but at least we saw more waterbucks,

a cute steenbok willing to pose,





an elephant herd



and even more elephants



and then suddenly we were surrounded by lots of Carmine bee eaters





and some even made a kill



followed by another steenbokkie.



After a short break at Satara we were back on the track as it was still too early to spent the rest of the day in camp and soon we headed forward onto the H6 which was also quiet that day, however, we came across a group of vultures on the ground obviously busy with a kill but we never found out what they were feeding on



and only shortly thereafter we stopped for a group of ground hornbills.



At the vulture sighting we had already been made aware about a leopard sighting nearly at the end of the H6 but when we reached the spot we only saw the kill in a tree but never could locate the leopard……
