Pretty pitiful showing, but I still had fun waiting to see what would approach next.

Other than the flies I only photographed one jumping spider, an ant, (both taken above the insect which is a NO-NO, as it appears your camera was mounted on the bottom of your shoe), and this Mayfly:

Mayfly adults only live a few days or a few hours, depending on the species, as they lack functional mouthparts.

(There's some fodder for Robert T's humorous repertoire… )

For those still awake, on to sightings in the Croc.Bridge area.

Sis, not just one fruit - I scooped up a paper plate's worth. Yes, without them being under the "microscope" of a macro lens they can be somewhat indistinguishable. The yellow bodied ones look alike, as do many of the black and white bodied flies.

We left LS and moved south to Crocodile Bridge. Our sightings included the usual, and a couple of firsts for us.
