Pilanesberg - Pilanesberg Newspaper

What has happened to that wonderful newspaper "Pilanesberg News" . I can remember subscribing to it - R50.00 for 4 issues. Very good value for money. I still have a copy in which I sent a letter to them was published about two big male lions that we saw and the reply from Dup Du Plessis.

Makes for interesting reading. We had seen these two for 3 years running but this year we missed them.

Saw them in April (2011).

They had brought down a wildebeest at the T to fish eagle, we found them the next day still at fish eagle and followed them guessing where they'd come out and then, and then followed them again to Pilanesberg centre.

It would be great if the Pilanesberg paper can be revived. You sometimes have to wait a year before something you sent in is published on their web site.

Hi joekin. Where they both ok? In 2009 and 2010 when we saw them the one looked as if he had a broken jaw. I have a photo somewhere which clearly shows his bottom jaw hanging loose. I was so hoping to see them this year but it was not to be. If any other mite can give me feedback on their wellbeing I shall appreciate it.

Not sure STF. :oops: I haven't been their for about 15 years, I used to know.

Does anyone have any idea who we can contact? I am sure that Pilanesberg management would love to see what is being said about their park on this forum.

Here is the one we think is injured in October 2009 near Tilodi Dam.



Here again in October 2010 near Execution Rock on the Kwa Maritane road.



Any updates or later photos of this guy would be appreciated.
