Lights..camera...action...Kill!

Post by Twigga »

So after 32 years of going to Kruger Park ..I have finally witnessed or experienced my first kill!

I have dreamt of this and always secretly hoped that if I ever have the privelege of seeing a kill it must be over quickly!

And my dream came true

4 lions ..on a poor warthog

That pig didn't even had time to "skrik"

Let's make a poll..have you ever witnessed a kill?

1 Yes
2 No
3 Not interested

Not in Kruger, but in the KTP

Five times (not joking!) cheetahs on springboks and lions on a wildebeest once.

So

Only ones, a cheetah killed a hare in KTP.

I don't think that raptor kills count ;-)

Welcome back Twigga. 0/*

I've seen 4 kills:

Lions killing a warthog (Kruger)....lots of squealing! :-(
Wild dog killing an impala (Kruger)....not nice to see!
Leopard killing a wildebeest (Pilanesberg)...actually over quite quickly.
Lion killing an impala (Kruger)...seen from a distance so not too gory. ;-)

Yes ! Twice (only) :

Lions hunting Zebras, Etosha, August 2012
Lions hunting Zebras, from Lower Sabie Deck, December 2018 viewtopic.php?f=35&t=431&start=160#p432586

And we arrived just after the kill on two other occasions :
Lions on a Buffalo near the Tamboti Camp access road (July 2016) they were still dragging the buffalo to the shade ; and Cheetahs on a Springbok in the KTP near Twee Rivieren (May 2017).
