Can report @ Malelane Gate - there was not even an attempt made to search our vehicle, only took the exit permit and that was it. Beaver even asked if he wanted to search the vehicle and the individual only laughed
Made a pitstop @ Phabeni Gate - The security there is on high alert, there was a huge scene at the gate where a day visitor got highly upset when his liquor got confiscated by security. We left the scene before it got ugly. So well done Phabeni Gate!
New security at Kruger gates...
Re: New security at Kruger gates...
Cool Thanks for the update Twigga
The guards/staff aren’t permitted to confiscate dop, they have to pour it out in front of the visitor. I can’t imagine anything worse.
I would drink it all and make the Cow drive

Only without drinking.
God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

Had to do it once at Orpen...eventually I stopped and asked the guard to carry on...but we both left the scene...and no, the guard wasn't interested in the rest...just also sad!

Re: New security at Kruger gates...
Back on a serious note, and one that bugs me immensely.
My last 3 or 4 visits to the park I was not searched, yes they asked if I had firearms or alcohol, but no checking even while the sniffer dogs were being shown huge affection by the other members of the public. It seems as if these dogs just wonder around with the handler from tree to tree.
That is not my major concern. Last weekend I left with my exit permit after the security said that I might come back later. This never happened, and it just goes to show, SP's have no idea who is in the park and who has left. The exit permits are supposed to be captured on their system at the end of the day, in order to check that everyone that should be out is. If this was being done, I'm sure I would have received a call from them to ask if I am ok and if where I am.
Maybe I should do this every week and mail one of the big boys a copy of my exit permit each time.
Until they get this crap sorted out, nobody will believe that they are serious about poaching!!!

They do know me, but I could be the best poacher in the park!
