On the side of the path in the steep rocks a herd of Springboks jumps the blocks of stones to arrive on the road. Only one hesitate, it seems high and dangerous for her. She searches for a passage and runs along the wall several times. It seems to me that she is pregnant. Could this be the reason for his fear ..0..
We can't wait, we are in a hurry, by the heat <hot>

Image they need 4 legs to escape Cheetahs

Stop ..0..
U-turn, I saw something weird :-?
weird yes indeed a Brown-hooded Kingfisher that we can't often see in the park O:V
EDIT : Striped Kingfisher… :ty: Klipspringer

Image

Then another little one, not often seen, for good reason, they are all the time "running" around the tree ;-) scrutinizing the interstices under the bark of the trunks, their long beak is made for that, a Common (Greater) Scimitarbill
not easy to have a pic 0*\

And then again a Martial Eagle + a kill. According to the long claws, it could well be a Mongoose again ... the head looks missing

We went to Batulama in the hope of finding one or more Leopards ... missed  :-(

We return to the camp around 4:30 p.m., the time to gently start the fire for the braai, to open all the windows, the sun on the windows quickly raises the temperature \O

A Forktail Drongo performs acrobatics in the tallest tree. In fact they are two, seduction, again, it seems a bit late in the season, very nice flights in which the two take part
and there is a group of Wildebeest at the waterhole
Supper is more peaceful than yesterday lol

On the thick carpet I notice a fairly large ant, with a hairy yellow back and which is really very aggressive.
These are the same ones we saw Michele and I in Namibia, Bal-byter Ants / Camponotus fulvopilosus

There is a pretty light in the tent
I take advantage to be on the lookout, my equipment is already ready to operate. Nothing  After the heavy rain there is enough water in the dunes, the animals don't need to come to the camp
