Here's one out of six (that is only the puppies...) in the Batulama / Gemsbok area. They were right next to the road but the dry grass was still obscuring a good view for the camera
Plus, right behind the verge the terrain descended, so more often than not the playing pups were partly hidden in the dip... We only saw them once. I suppose they must have moved due to the traffic
Unfortunately I had to take the photos right into the sun, but we didn't want to upset them by moving the car into a better position.
And the ever so patient mother.
One really must have respect for Cape fox mothers... They bear any antics of their youngsters while dad more often than not is gone elsewhere.
Out of the 7 different litters we saw, dad was close to the family in 2 cases. One was seen in the distance and another one fled the scene once
the babies came out

This is one of said dads that hung around They were seen between Monro and Houmoed.
It was a litter of four, but I only managed three of the pups in one frame

The other dad was from the family that has had their den by the tree that is basically in the middle of the road between Rooibrak and Montrose.
Unfortunately our sighting of them collided with the cheetahs and the leopard, so the foxes drew the short end
Mum
Dad
We only so one of the little foxies, but were told there were three of them.
