He looks like the male that got in the camp in the evening in 1983 when the camp was empty and I forgot to close the gate (Only I gate in those days ..no hide and no North drive or South drive gate ..just a farm swing out wire gate gate and padlock which stayed open all day ..they gave me the key on condition I let myself out on time in the morning and again at night ..That night I forgot ..ah well it was good sport trying to herd him out again

Thanks, RP! I always appreciate that kind of feedback from the master of words (and I mean the latter!) 0/0

Klipspringer wrote: Wed Apr 01, 2020 9:06 am A very handsome lion indeed, he might have left some offspring for you to encounter next time?
I'm sure he had... only that I didn't get to see them. At least not that I know of ;-)

Lisbeth wrote: Wed Apr 01, 2020 9:51 amThe first time at Nossob, I saw four lions at the old waterhole just before it got dark. Funnily enough, they came to drink one at a time and then retired into the shadow of the tree O/\ It was 10 years ago!
Propably the offspring Klippie was talking about :-0

I wish I had already discovered the park in those day! My SIL did so, kind of. She still knows the park as the Gemsbok Park and only three camps. I'm really jealous of that experience.

Fifth night @ Urikaruus Riverfront

Not much of a story today... Just - remember when the waterhole hadn't been moved yet and also didn't have a floodlight lol

I was going with "No, but I didn't take photos on the drives." O** but your reply is much wittier, Flutts lol

But there is the odd pic outside the camps as well, Klippie and I posted a couple before too ;-)

Sixth night @ Urikaruus Riverfront

How I miss the view, the changing weather patterns and the dramatic colours :-0

I'm sure we would have gotten to see the riverbed this green...
