Once upon a Time when CoViD-19 destroyed a Dream

Post by Mel »

Today I would have landed in South Africa... a bit cranky after a night on the plane but very much looking forward of what the trip might bring this time around. Above all - after years of little rain, I would've gotten to see a green Kgalagadi again. But that's a lot of "would haves" Fact is, the only travelling we are allowed these days is sofa surfing. So I just pretend that... lol I'll only post a very few pix and they are mostly from our first trips. So quality is not that great but it's al about the memory anways :-0

First night @ Kieliekrankie

The view

It would have been a nice filet with some crisp lettuce dappled with Ina Paarman's blue cheese dressing.
Yum, I can actually taste it :-0

And maybe, we would have seen a leopard again?

(This is Maja, most likely deceased by now.)

Or maybe a cheetah?

(Pudding or Pie, definitely deceased by now.)

🎵Dream
When you're feeling blue
Dream
That's the thing to do

Just watch the smoke rings
Rise in the air
You'll find your share
Of memories there

So dream
When the day is through
Dream
And they might come true

Things never are
As bad as they seem
So dream
Dream
Dream
So…🎵

Yeah, but I got beyond sad by now and am doing this for fun actually.
Having a trip cancelled is the least of the problems out there, I guess.

We only went once a year on our very first trip in 2010,
then in 2012 when we went to Addo instead,
then in 2014 when we went to Oz and
finally in 2017 when we went to Kruger.
The rest - yes, twice a year. :O^
