Marloth the Break ... April 2018

Post by RogerFraser »

So by April we had enough of civilization and decided to go to Marloth over the long weekend. We left and drove through Swaziland to Marloth with our bus mascot front and center ...

On the way we got some bad news the house had been burgled so we had to look at securing it again . O/ O-/

We found the security company had got the broken burglar bars welded but the vibration sensors were still broken . @#$ O/

We got unpacked and went to the fence line passing a pirate property on the way :-? :

A colorful start

:-( it is unfortunately crime is something that happens in Marloth especially as there is allot of building going on with new properties - mainly it is petty thefts especially with properties where they can pickup there is not much activity at certain times .It also takes security a little while to respond due to the distances and dirt roads .This time they only got away with the alarm battery but cause much damage to windows and security doors .Previously they stole some cutlery and solar lights O/

Anyway we made sure the property was secure and went shopping the following morning in Komatiport .In the mid afternoon we entered at Crocodile bridge .Our first sighting was a traffic jam and the cause was some flat Lions .

We found a new Gnu

Going up the S28 we found a flying impala but no suspects seemed to be around -O-

We found a Burchell's coucal

We stopped in at Lower Sabie before going to visit Sunset Dam

Lovely pic of the cougal and of course the squirrel O/\ O/\

When we stayed at Marloth I remember a lot of youngsters just hanging around and I wondered what they were doing and how/why they had been allowed to pass the gate -O-
