A banded mongoose! I still have to see one 0*\

Yesterday I saw those fruits too on an enormous tree, at least I think they were the same. I'll try to find out what kind of tree it is \O

The elands treated you very well \O

LOVELY eland pics with the Lala Palms there, Pumbaa! ^Q^

Your first hornbill is also a grey - a male! \O

Very strange waterbuck horns! 0-

The berries/fruits are on the Natal Mahogany, a lovely evergreen that is planted in restcamps, and gardens here! X#X

Then it got extreme quiet and we only noticed a couple of kudus

Image

Image

before we turned into the Mahonie loop also a favourite of ours. We were welcomed by zebras

Image

and impalas with their hitchhikers - Also here the vegetation was extreme lush and green

Image

Image

stopped for a smaller elephant bull

Image

and kudu bulls who were totally relaxed.

Image

Image

Image

Unfortunately the woodhoopoes were a bit far away for decent shots but therefore we found a gorgeous little kudu youngster in the grass

Image

busy playing with its ears propeller.

Image

That baby was simply too cute and so funny to watch and on top totally relaxed.

Image

For sure nyalas were also around

Image

as well as lots of impalas.

For us the Mahonie loop is simply a nyala boulevard and we do see always lots of them here, families with males,

Image

females

Image

and smaller ones.

Image

We had to stop nearly around each corner as more and more of them appeared

Image

Image

and we were glad that all of them were extreme relaxed and allowed

Image

Image

to take that many shots from them. Young males were also around

Image

Image

as well as beautiful ladies

Image

Image

and I suppose we stopped for nearly each nyala on the Mahonie loop as in mind the entrance was coming nearer and nearer and we simply wanted to drag our stay in the park a bit longer. Kudus we also do often see along that road

Image

Image

and also elephant bulls.

Image

We nearly finished the loop when we spotted another family of ground hornbills

Image

with even a juvenile between them.

Image

A smaller group of buffaloes was then the last animal we stopped for and

Image

after our obligatory ice cream and pit stop at Punda Maria we left the park.

The end - Finally!
