Slowly inching my way through TTs now that I have more time on my hands
Cool buffs , what was actually ON that snail - I couldn't quite make it out, but was a cute pic
Impressive horns on the impala!, and the pebble-sized chicks .
The amount of water is wow, what a contrast to last September. A little too much foliage for my liking, bust still very beautiful
Last, but not least - adorable boon baby , impressive shot of the warthog w/ the hitchhikers , and the baby birds 'wid an attitude super!

Hadedas do not bother me at all There is always a couple around here , on the grass in front of the house , sleeping in the thorn tree outside my bedroom , building a nest etc . Its part of the farm-noises , like traffic for the city-peopleLisbeth wrote:I agree with you on the Hadedas
When we stayed in Franschoek we had them every day at 18:00 sharp for about an hour

Difficult to make out what's on the snail As can be understood , the pic was taken at a bit of distance with a long lens , and it was only afterwards when I examined it , that it appeared something " riding " on its back . From the shape , it seems to be some kind of predatory insect -- such as a robberfly ( Family Asilidae ) , or something like that .

Not sure what this is . There were a lot of them ,flying from tree to tree ahead of us , but never allowing us to come close to have a good look . Could be Gabar goshawk , or Shikra , maybe even Ovambo sparrowhawk Any help out there ?
European roller
Lisbeth , specially for you - a lioness hiding behind a bush ---lonnngg...distance away ..
Again
This croc was playing a lion act -- doing nothing
Peaceful river scene
Oops , an ellie roadblock
So , we wait
And wait until they cross , before we proceed

With what the combination of adult and juvvie looks like, I'd go for the shikra.
But you might want to post this on the bird ID to make sure what exactly they are
