It was a fair size buffalo herd and the 1 chap was getting picked on by oxpeckers bigtime. The lion were still peaking over the hill, but we still had a long haul to Mpila camp, so didn’t hang around long.
The view is fantastic on the drive up towards Hilltop Camp and a few more locals popped up on the way down to Mpila but we only stopped a couple of times.
Mpila to me is like 1 of the bush camps in Kruger as it’s quiet, but the fact there’s no fence makes it even better because there’s always general game walking around and one never knows what is going to come cruising past, so we decided to do a quick drive to Bhejani hide and come back to camp earlier than usual for a relaxing braai.
The road to the hide produced a few more locals and it was very cool to park off in the hide and watch the ellie and rhino interaction while both were trying to drink.
We stopped at viewpoint 17 where you are permitted to exit your car and Hawkeyes pulled out the selfie stick again for a family pic to end our afternoon drive.
I made a fairly large fire as it was our last night in the bush and Hawkeyes got a pic of the Cow and I trying to keep warm, while a scallywag kept an eye on us from a distance.
The next morning we ducked straight out the park as we had plenty things to sort out at home.
Lastly, thanks to all of you guys that have shared our adventure with us and for allowing us the opportunity to relive our trip.
