28th August 2015 - Day 7: Skukuza (Part 3)

I have posted a Black Rhino sighting here but I am sure that it has moved from this spot in the last year.

We got a double sighting at the bridge, there was a Black Rhino on the island in the middle of the Sabie River.

Image

The Blackie looked a bit battered and bleeding in spots

Then we noticed Lions walking down the other side of the river bed ^Q^ , so we were switching between the Rhino and the Lions for the next 30 minutes.

The Rhino found a comfy spot and lay down to sun tan.

And the Lions made their way off into the distance

So we continued on our way to Nkuhlu.

28th August 2015 - Day 7: Skukuza (Part 4)

On way back from Nkuhlu we found another herd of breeding Ellies. We love sitting and watching these amazing animals, so we stopped and enjoyed the sighting.

Some were not happy to have us around and made it clear when we should move out the way.

The Matriarch was last up from the river and she sent us on our way with a short charge. Well it looked like a short charge cause we were long gone by the time she reached the road.

More Buffalo

And the Rhino was still chilling in the sun.

It had been a really good morning drive 
