Re: Richprins' Short Business Trips to The Park
Went to Crocobridge with my Mom on Saturday, and bleddie nice it was too!
She had come down with a friend who also has children in the Lowveld, so why not?
The problem is the two err, senior ladies had obtained a rather well-hidden venue to stay, between Nelspruit and White River in amongst the plots. there must be over 500 guesthouses in the general area...no jokes!
Momprins, leachy and I went to Galito's chicken place here in town on the Friday night. Best chicken around, and a tradition.
There we looked on google and the directions seemed quite clear for me to pick her up the next morning and cruise over to Numbi Gate.
After two hours of exploring the rural areas of Mbombela Municipality while listening to garbled instructions over the phone next morning, I was a bit demoralised...
MP: "Look for the R573, the dirt road, and..."
OL2: "No! The R522 is the tar road, and then you see the dirt road.."
RP: "Is there a sign?"
MP: "No, but..."
And so on and so forth. Eventually I cancelled coms and drove into White River to find any Afrikaans Male, and got proper directions quickly and easily.
From Plaston we went for broke and took an "alternative route" to Numbi - Spioenkop road which ends up at Legogote (Lion's Head) and then one hopes for the best. Contrary to predictions the tar road abruptly became a dirt road, but we pressed on in the rain and ultimately came out at the gate near Jerusalem, ironically.
Anyway!
In at Numbi...incredibly green, and lovely clouds! (as always!)
We stopped at the PK day visitors spot for coffee etc. The place is a white elephant, IMO. It is overgrown and little-used, and there was no water which is not good for the toilets...
But lush!
It was CRAWLING with ants, the crazy big ones (malmiere) and I suffered being clad in slops...so I spent my time on the table!
While getting stuff from the car I had to do on-the-spot marching, which Momprins found very funny for some reason.
Nice trees!

Momprins has produced you so she will have to deal with you......and vice versa
That place looks rather a mess
Those are not your usual clouds

Re: Richprins' Short Business Trips to The Park
We popped in at Pretoriuskop, a nice change for me...
But Momprins spied the shop, which means disaster, a guaranteed 3 hour delay. So I went to fill up the tank.
It didn't take too long, as in the past I have taken early tea in frustration with her as a response!
One can look on the map and see it is quite a tricky direct sand route from PK to Crocobridge, and I ALWAYS get lost on the middle bit.
Off we went down the Voortrekker Road!
Ship Mountain!
Green hey?
Also evidence of plenty rain the previous night, but roads were fine!
About this time my Mom developed a MAJOR migraine. She has suffered from it since school days, so knows the drill. The only thing really is to go and rest in a cool dark place, so we speeded up quite dramatically, as CB was now the only option. But it comes and goes, so we stopped for some things!

This was nice, as the sun was out but clouds still in the background!
We were just before the Biyamiti Weir, on the S114!
Very pretty:
Then Momprins spied these two up to mischief!
