Beautiful photos throughout! But my favourites are those of the tranquil scenery at Lake Panic :-0

God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

Your "lifer" is not a white-throated robin thrush  It must be a shrike with that bill ;-) A southern boubou maybe?
Southern boubou would be a lifer too O/\

Was the honeymoon couple still relaxed when we arrived it meanwhile was obviously time again and both looked at each other and meant the same – “Ready?”

Image

“Ready!”

Image

After the obligatory prologue

Image

they got straight down to the nitty-gritty

Image

and were caught in the act.

Image

Image

It was such a fantastic end of the day with this brilliant sighting and obviously we still arrived right in time

Image

in order to enjoy the lions but for sure we still had to keep an eye onto the clock not to be too late.

The light was not in our favour as we had to photograph against the light but who cares

Image

whilst we enjoyed the day dreamer

Image

Image

who got tired after his tasks.

Image

He started to groom

Image

and was a very handsome guy

Image

and I hoped that it maybe could be one of the four males we saw at exactly that spot last year.

Image

His chosen one was exhausted

Image

Image

and his majesty was prepared to pose for some nice portraits.

Image

Image

until it was meanwhile time to leave

Image

and so in a very good mood we left and for sure we already knew at that stage where to look for lions tomorrow.

Back in camp we lit the braai, however, the darker it got the more bugs appeared from nowhere who all were attracted by the lights and I guess after the previous rainy evenings now they had their time. We tried to put the table somewhere else and it got a bit better but if we not nearly had finished our braai we would have went inside but so whilst the bugs stayed outside we went to bed and slept like logs and even without any bug inside.

to be continued……
