The leopard pics might be blurred, but it is a great sighting O/\ O/\

The goshawk must be a dark chanting goshawk even if it looks pale O** Kruger is out of range for the pale one.

Leopard bum shot ;-)

There are always a lot of waterbirds on and around the small peninsula in Transport Dam ^Q^

A pity that there were closed roads :-(

Leopard are leopard, Pumbaa, and one a day keeps plenty of satisfied customers! X#X

What is even more special is watching the impala barking and waiting and then seeing the predator! O/\

Lovely goshawk shots and the dam so peaceful. :-0

Mom plus the little one dared to come closer to the water and the little one was so cute so we could not take our eyes from them

Image

Image

but also captured the aunts.

Image

The water dikkops and whited faced ducks were plentiful

Image

and the sunbathing water monitor very lazy.

Image

After a while we left this lovely place and still on the road leading to the tar road Timon slammed on the brakes as a chameleon was about to cross the road in its speed and needless to say that soon a traffic jam built up as nobody wanted to run over that beautiful creature.

Image

The tar road back to camp was also quiet but at least we spotted a very hidden steenbok

Image

and saw a couple of magpie shrikes

Image

before we stopped at Skukuza for a very needed toilet break and whilst stretching also the legs a bit we detected a beautiful orange coloured lizard in the small garden between reception and the toilets.

Image

Due to the quiet drive it was still extreme early far too early to spend the rest of the morning in camp and also still to early for Lake Panic so we gave you magical square another try but today we first checked whether eventually the Sand River causeway might be open again and what a surprise same was open but nevertheless we also drove first via the tar road into the direction of the high water bridge and in one of the many loops a beautiful martial eagle could be admired

Image

and also posed like mad

until same took off

Image

and also allowed a couple of flight shots.

Image

The rest of the drive was again quiet somehow it was a bit witched that morning but at least the sunny and bright weather

Image

and the views from the high water bridge compensated us a bit.

Image

Another compensation then was that the S30 had been opened too and so we headed that way in maybe finding the leopard from yesterday’s evening but for sure we found no leopard. We always drive the many loops along the Sabie river as same are lovely shady spots on sunny days and do always attract a lot of birds and so it was today as we soon saw a black headed oriole,

Image

followed by woodhoopoes

Image

and woodpeckers.

Image

Image

Another stunning sighting was a purple crested turaco but we again had bad luck as we could not caught same on picture so after a lovely break we turned around and soon were stopped by a group of male waterbucks

Image

who were about to cross the road and in between a couple of impala rams were around as well.

Image

The waterbucks were willing to pose for a picture

Image

and so was a beautiful butterfly.

Image

to be continued……

Male and female Bennett's Woodpecker together, very cool!
I like the butterfly photo, too, it's an African Monarch, feeding on Waltheria indica its fav flower in KNP.
The Rainbow Skink is a female, the males look quite different.

What a serene morning, Pumbaa! ^Q^

A wide selection indeed, all lovely and green and sunny.

Yes, the touracos are impossible to catch in pics. O/

A great impala and eagle action shot, but my favourite is the yellow lizard! :-0 :-0
