Crying baby! they should have soundproof cabins for those You must have been dead tired after two sleepless, almost, nights
Not much lion there
Better the view from the bridge

The drive in with a lion already - wow! But the mongoose is my favourite
Normally we will make it to the park straight but it is just a spare night just in case something is not working as we will (delays in flights, traffic jams) and even a more than good start into the trip - You gave me the hint two years ago - Rio Vista Lodge - also the Restaurant there is highly recommendable and the staff is lovely
It was a grand trip and the first full day was already an Incredible one
Maybe they fly somewhere else where there is more water thenKlipspringer wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 6:55 pm Lots of white-faced ducks, love them, they are the most elegant ducks out there. In summer, there are plenty, I wonder what they do in winter when you don't see many

Somehow all the people were gone and only the cars stood there - Check in was indeed very fast
Totally right also Timon was tired that day but we were soooo happy to just have been back and btw all the following nights we slept like logs
Thanks you - That first full day was simply fantastic
and even more presented themselves

Meanwhile one of the male lions stood already up and started the walk, however, was far too soon out of sight but finally we noticed that there were more
and suddenly one after the other stood up and followed the leader.
In total it was a group of four male lions who unfortunately walked deeper into the bush and due to the vegetation could hardly be seen anymore.
We drove back until we reached the junction with the H3 and so did also all the other cars but somehow the lions kept away - maybe they laid down out of sight until the evening but for sure we carried on eager to find something new.
Which we in fact did only a couple of meters were we originally saw the lions – a large herd of elephants was about to arrive – In the beginning they only appeared sporadically
and even allowed some close ups
but suddenly they turned up from nearly everywhere – even twins – at least they looked so.
Two of them even had a quarrel and they tested out who might be the stronger one
and after a while peace dominated again and they finally walked side by side away.
Simply love the background on that shot which is so typical for this area and now also the ladies appeared on the scene

Re: A cat or a lifer a day keep the doctor away
for sure with a lot youngsters
and even smaller ones around.
Most of them were feeding on the high and fresh green grass whilst others took a rest
and after a more than lovely while we could spend with them they finally cleared the way and soon disappeared between the thick bushes.
Again we did not come far as soon a family of warthogs was willing to pose
as well as impalas
and even more warthogs posed nicely for us as normally they are on a ran away mode but these were extreme relaxed,
the light was perfect and the hitchhikers plentiful.
