Just saw this post on the SANParks KNP FB page:

Hi all just got back from KNP and my last 3 days were spent in Shingwedzi...xmas day was a dissaster day visitors were allowed to buy alcohol from the shop....drunk day visitor left his power bank for his cellphone in the sun the car caught alight......then a guy drives his car dwn a bank by the bridge thank God for him there was no water below.....And visitors leave the park at 6pm to exit border gate 6:30pm......really not impressed with speeding and the next day roads are full of beer cans and lots of litter on the roads......is this how our park will be disrespected.......And not forgetting driving up to Punda the next day 2 dead squirrels in the road 3 birds and 3 tortoise......really sad........

The only shop that asked us for our permit was Letaba shop. Speeding up north is a huge concern

Next trip to the bush??

Let me think......................

The disorder is obviously getting worse all over the park 0*\

The shop owner earns money on each bottle he sells O** (The shops are leased, I presume?)

I have almost decided to go to Shingwedzi on Wednesday and stay for two nights. (I am going to get poor anyway, so some time before does not change anything O** ) Any particular recommendations? Must sees etc. ;-)

I'll stay in a BG2 bungalow as I want a private bathroom. As far as I can see on the camp map, there is not much difference from one location to another. None with a special view I think -O-
