Re: Fire at Olifants Rest Camp

Post by Peter Betts »

Ja it happened during the Braai process ..What an idiot to braai in a strong wind ...Those units will surely have hotplates ...Its part of nature ..Rule No 1 no open fires on a windy night ..How obvious is that..If it was calm when you actually want to start braaing at Olifants front huts you can see far into Moz and know wind is at least coming if not there already ..such an unnecessary thing and if finished put the fire out and use the wood/charcoal the next night ..save the earth guys..no 9 hut has the best view at Olifants camp ..the hut where I proposed to Jane in 1979 ..gone
