Do you like travelling?

Post by okie »

There was a time when travelling by air was a real pleasure , but , regrettably , no longer so

We used to do a lot of travelling by air , for business purposes and of course , for pleasure :-)
But , times have changed , especially after 9/11 , when security measures all over the world had to be tightened up .
Here a little article that recently appeared in a UK newspaper .

Now , despite this , people are still travelling , either because they have to , or because they want to O**

I actually make a point of not wearing any belt, jewellery or any shoes with a zipper...
My lens gets bomb-swept every single time at Hanover airport and the SO more often than not
has to have our torches double-checked. And the queues... awful.

God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

I hate travelling by air. The space gets smaller and smaller and the toilets are awful. I am talking about 5+ hours. Short trips are OK.

Being a wheel chair passenger helps, because you don't have to do the queues, but let us remember that it is also rather cheap these days. Travelling first class is a bit different I think - never tried. I have travelled business a couple of times, but it is not much better.

When I travel long distance during the night I go prepared: A couple of anti stress pills, ear plugs, eye mask and no meals.

Some airports are worse than others, especially security wise, but again the wheel chair helps. It is when they pick you out of the crowd and you have to empty everything, that things get very tough on the nerves (0!) ......and then you cannot open the windows O**

If we start thinking about the terrorist risks, we would probably never travel, but then again IT ONLY HAPPENS TO THE OTHERS, RIGHT? O** O** O**

You cannot cry: "Stop the plane, I want to get off" -O-
