Mining being allowed inside buffer zone

What has happened to our Parks “buffer zone”?
Proposed mining areas right inside that zone.
Why has it been ignored?

The buffer zones were not exactly made for mining

Mining is not the end of the world if properly done (Phalaborwa), but in the current climate one has to always be suspicious, unfortunately... O**

Sorry Rog, please excuse my ignorance but was the
"buffer zone" claimed within the boundaries of the
existing park? If so then there would be a serious
impingement. If a buffer was added to the park then
one can see this in different light.

Rather more a situation where the NEMA as set aside,
are coming to loggerheads and such situation needs to
be respected. Most unfortunately these are the realities
of life.
Populace and perpetuation thereof in direct confrontation
with diminishing natural resource. How on earth the two
opposing situations will be accommodating for each other
leaves one pondering!!!

In this whole shambles that planet earth finds self in, well
yah, human life and that integrity, supersedes all other forms
of existence!! Sad but true!

It shows clearly on the map that the buffer zone was added.

When you talk about mining, I presume that it is coal mining?

Hi Lis,...

Correct so, means authority did set aside land for concern while development continues
to exploit.
