It has been many years since I was this far north, but can't recall having driven this road.

Dzundwini is a Tsonga word meaning “at the land belonging to the chief and cultivated by his people”.

In 1836, when the voortrekker Louis Trichardt passed through the area, the area was densely settled and under the control of chief Matibee. Louis Trichardt named the hill Matibeetuijn, Dutch for Matibee's garden.

At the site of the spring, there is almost a guarantuee about seeing Nyala in the dry season.

And some other animals come to drink there.
