In 1836, when the voortrekker Louis Trichardt passed through the area, the area was densely settled and under the control of chief Matibee. At the site of the spring, there is almost a guarantuee about seeing Nyala in the dry season.
And some other animals come to drink there.

Sorry I did not have the calculator by hand I probably counted nyalas as two, really don't know
