SANRAL has warned the N12 road users that this road will be closed to allow South32 to erect a new conveyer overpass bridge that crosses the N12 at km 44.1 that supply services and coal to Klipspruit Colliery.

This temporarily full road closure will be on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19 at the Ogies/Bethal (exit number 515) and eMalahleni West/Ogies exit number 524) interchanges and traffic in both directions will be affected.

On Saturday, the road will be closed from 00:00 to 00:00 and on Sunday 00:00 to 15:00.

Motorists will be diverted at the N12 Eastbound Ogies/Bethal (exit number 515) off-ramp coming from Johannesburg toward eMalahleni.

It will also be diverted at the N12 westbound eMalahleni West/Ogies (exit number 524) off-ramp coming from eMalahleni driving towards Johannesburg.

Mpumalanga Provincial and eMalahleni traffic officers will monitor the diversion of traffic.

The closures may need to be adjusted depending on weather conditions on the day.

If need be, a second notice with information of the new times will be made available.

Motorists are urged to proceed with caution and adhere to the speed limits.

SANRAL apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks the motoring public for their patience.

The agency takes seriously their mandate from government to manage and maintain the national road network.

In doing so, the safety and well being of road users and the communities which it operates is paramount.

Notice issued on behalf of SANRAL by Traffic Barricade.
