Grey-Backed Bush Warbler

Post by Richprins »

What a descriptive name!

It has a grey back and warbles in the bush!

This time the CIA/FBI didn't even make an effort in their haste to implement the nomanocide policy...they went straight to the Latin name...

O/

So now Grey-backed Cameroptera!

What must a child think when you are trying to teach him or her names in the bush?

FBI: "Cameroptera!"
Child: "Bless you!:? "

Swainson's Francolin

Post by Richprins »

Now it is a "Spurfowl"!!!???

What the hell is a spurfowl?

They were obviously too drunk to spell the Latin name, and came up with a "spur of the moment" decision, giggled about it and patented the name!

Or the whole process is being sponsored by a South African Restaurant franchise!

I give up! O/ O/ O/

Wow, two references to Floyd one after the other - Pigs on the Wing and The Wall. \O

Whatever happened to good old Fan-tailed Warbler?

We now have a bird with severe medical problems - Zitting Cisticola -O
