Saw this ellie on the S128 on 11 January 2015 with some interesting tusks .Did not seem to hinder it in any way.

Some responses:
Dr Joubert and a hunter buddy of mine feel the monkey probably has an injury...Dr Joubert recently saw a similarly-injured baboon.
Regarding Roger's ellie...not too uncommon, and no problem as long as it does not interfere with the trunk, which seems fine.
Ever the scientist, Dr Joubert sent pics of ellie cows with similar "drawbacks", taken near Punda. Both are fine and have calves!
The first one has a healed broken leg.

Have seen the Ellie with healed broken leg on 2 different occasions a few years apart in Punda area.
