Man with hidden elephant tusks nabbed entering Kruger National Park | News Article

Malamulele - The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation – the Hawks – on Tuesday said a 28-year-old Mozambican man was caught at the weekend with two elephant tusks hidden in maize meal bags in his car.


The suspect was entering the Kruger National Park through Punda Maria gate when he was stopped by park rangers.

During the search of his car, rangers uncovered two elephant tusks hidden in the back of the suspect’s vehicle. The tusks were hidden inside maize meal bags," said Captain Matimba Maluleke.

The suspect will appear before the Malamulele Magistrate Court on Tuesday for unlawful possession of elephant tusks.

Yip Typical,..Not what goes in but rather what goes out.
Booze goes in, therefore check for booze only!! Could be
very satisfying!!! With regard to tusks yah well no fine,
it cannot be wrong for the direction speaks for self!!

Case postponed of poacher arrested for two hidden tusks in maize meal bags
Maluleque Arlindo Feniassie, a suspected elephant poacher, brazenly tried to drive across the border with two elephant tusks in miaze meal bags on the back of his bakkie but was stopped by rangers and arrested.

Elephant poaching has increased at an escalating rate in the northern region of the KNP. This week another arrest has been made.

The suspect Maluleque Arlindo Feniassie was entering the Kruger National Park through Punda Maria-gate when he was stopped by park rangers. During the search of his car, rangers uncovered two elephant tusks hidden in the back of the suspect’s vehicle.“We suspect that he wanted to go back to Mozambique through the KNP. The tusks were hidden inside maize meal bags,” said Captain Matimba Maluleke.

He has appeared before the Malamulele Magistrate Court on Tuesday for unlawful possession of elephant tusks. His case was postponed to the 11 July for formal bail application.
