I had a quick walk up at Kirstenbosch this afternoon. The weather was not of the best…rather gloomy and overcast but a walk up at Kirstenbosch is way better than sulking at home. Surprisingly there was much bird activity. I was feeling a bit lazy so I plonked myself on a bench and just observed. From my bench I watched the antics of the Southern Doubled-collared , Orange-breasted and Malachite Sunbirds, Sombre Greenbul, Cape Robin-Chat, Cape Sugarbird, Karoo Prinia, Southern Boubou, Olive Thrush, Brimstone, Forest and Cape Canaries, Red-winged Starlings, Black Saw-wings, White-necked Ravens , Speckled Mousebird and African Olive Pigeon. As I said the weather was gloomy and light was low but here are a few photos I managed to take.

There is just never a dull moment at Kirstenbosch..even when the weather is dull… :-)

Lovely to see photographs through another's eye of "my ' Kirstenbosch ....lovely view and Guinea Fowl Lisbeth. I never think to take the "view" ..probably because I mostly walk with my birding lens. :)
Let me share another butterfly species with you - I do believe this is a Cabbage White.
