Crocodile Gorge Conservancy - (Nelspruit-Malelane)

Post by Richprins »

We did a staff weekend there this year, a truly remarkable area! It is the large tract of land in the mountains along the Crocodile River east of town that is conserved under the auspices of Mpumalanga Parks Board.

Will do a sort of trip report...

Ja, that's the road, okie! Mara turnoff just west of the Gorge, comes out on the Barberton-Malelane road! \O

We went in the school bus..endless delays from waiting for shop to liquid leaking from underside of vehicle..sort of like a gigantic Dimwits trip. :O^

Next delay was a cash in transit robbery that blocked the Gorge for hours...fortunately the turnoff was right there, and we eventually crept forward a few metres on the wrong side of the road! 0:

We stayed at this lodge, Inkwali. Quite a secret and a couple of km of hectic dirt road inside, but well worth it!
