Ouch, those roads look a bit rough! Although the gravel road actually looks better than the tar road... Corrugations on the first?
Reminds me a bit of the dune roads in the Kgalagadi lol

Nice pic of the waders \O and the close up of the blacksmith :-)

The right dog looks more like a cross between a sheep and a bear than a dog. =O:

Quite right Mel. Most of the tar roads are in a worse condition than the gravel ones.

Quite a few corrugations mainly on bends.

Thank you for the compliments and love your comment on the bear/dog. =O: =O: =O:

Having slow bites of pudding, as it's almost over... :-(

The dynamiting of the first higher railway bridge by the Burgher Forces of Gen. De Villiers, was largely ineffective as the British forces merely had to hoist the blown out sections back into place, pop in a few new bolts and the railway was once again operational in fairly short order.

Thanks for the comments R.P. and yes the bridge was repaired in double quick time.

I wish we had had time to go into the bowels of Gariep Dam. I have also heard from other sources that it is amazing.
