Rhapsody in Black and White

Post by Penga Ndlovu »

Tue Nov 22, 2011
A few days back I started playing around with altering some of my pictures and also changing them to Black and White images as I have always found that they were much more outspoken than colour photo's.

Here are a few samples:

This lone Bull and his companion I found alongside the dirtroad from Balule to Bangu waterhole

Image

This is one of my most outspoken Wilddog headshots

Image

I have always found thunderous skies to be much more ominous in Black and White

Image

Seeing the king of the animal kingdom is always very special

Image

The thunderclouds above and the dead Leadwoods on the horizon gives an eerie feeling

Michel, beautiful. \O

The clouds do look more thunderous in black in white.

Not all pics have the same effect.

Take for instance a beautiful bird.....

with make up on and a lovely dress.... sorry.... :oops

Right, but it is not natural.......and not a subject for discussion, like art or fashion or music  and I suppose it is exactly the point, this is a kind of art, it has very little to do with the animals nor with nature, but with impressions and what it "says" to you \O

Come to think of it, I would never put a "normal" photo on my walls, but one of the above could be considered. I am a quick learner and try to be open minded. I have almost started liking it

Great pic Leachy \O
That shot would look real good if only the background was converted to B&W. \O

Leachy, give it a bash, or give me permission to play with that pic on the weekend. ;-)
