Nice buffalos
In my experience roaring lions are difficult to place and if they also move......

Shame for the "shy" spottie, but otherwise great sightings again
Did you manage to secure your tent equipment?
And I kinda seemed to have picked up on Facebook that Vallie Moosa is no more?

You're right, they are difficult to place... from about 8pm to 4am they seemed to be roaring in the same location, then it went quiet. That must have been when they movedLisbeth wrote:Nice buffalos

Friends who were also in the park got lucky and found them on the road to Domkrag dam, but that apparently didn't last long anyway as some lunatic decided to drive through them and nearly took out a few tails in the process
Thanks Mel, yes our tent survived quite ok thanks. The only time we've ever had an issue was in 100km/h winds coming straight off the sea at Storms RiverMel wrote:Shame for the "shy" spottie, but otherwise great sightings again

And yes, sad news about Valli - he was killed in a fight with another bull. Still, he was still alive during this trip

He did not show his age and too young to die. Yet not that young anymore

It would have been interesting to know what age he might have reached if not for the fightLisbeth wrote:He did not show his age and too young to die. Yet not that young anymore
The sea is only visible in the southern sections and for some reason there weren't many animals there for the backdrop!Richprins wrote:Interesting shots and info, Peej! Where are some more with the sea in the background?
Thanks Pumbaa. The lions were very flat! They did move from time to time to find better shade, but we didn't happen to be there when they movedPumbaa wrote:Brilliant sightings and shots, PJL,
