But not many

Lovely landscape shots on top - Looks like a more than nice place to stay O\/
The toad is not endemic and caused quite a havoc to Kakadu, unfortunately. Animals would eat the toad
and die of its poison. But melou is the way better person to explain the whole context. \O

Love the billabong scene. ^Q^
The wallaby looks like he is washing his hands. lol
I thought, it had a bad itch and was actually scratching. Funny, how different people perceive things differently. lol

melou wrote:I know you said you didn't see enough kangaroos while you were down under, but you sure got a great photo of the 2 big reds you did see!! ^Q^ [O]
That is such an iconic image of the red kangaroos bounding through the outback - just love it \O
Plus so many fabulous birds :-) :-)
How many days now until KTP?? :-0 :-0 :-0
Well, that was the only other lot of kangaroos in the wild that we saw. Definitely not enough for a country / continent that claims them to be
rather a plague. lol

9 days till take off. :-0 O\/

Why is it called Alligator River when the alligators are crocodiles :-? lol
Beautiful rock scenery \O
77 and counting! O/\ And I thought the same thing about the Alligator River... That's what actually got me confused in the first place
when posting my photo. :O^

Hi Mel 0/*

As you know the Alligator Rivers Region of the Northern Territory comprises 3 rivers - the East, West and South Alligator Rivers. They were explored by Lieutenant Phillip Parker King in 1820 who named them in the mistaken belief that the crocodiles in the estuaries were alligators \O

I thought the very same when my Dad and I went to Africa in 2012 :-)
In fact, apart from the lack of kangaroos (which ARE everywhere in Oz Mel ;-) ), sometimes Dad and I felt like we could have been driving through the Aussie outback instead of Africa! lol

Now only 8 days to go - yippee!! ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

Amazing bird sightings and photos yet again Mel.

Love the heron. O/\

So, how many lifers did you get in total for the trip? Quite a few I would guess. O\/
