Further on to Mata Mata it was very quiet. We only saw many vultures at vulture alley.





Our plan was to visit the shop in Namibia. We checked at Mata Mata about the procedure and were told just to move into Namibia and ask for permission. This was granted with a smile. We did not need to show our passports at all. The shop was a disappointment though. There was hardly any meat available and only some local farm products on sale at high prices. Thus, with no venison we returned to Mata Mata.

After filling up we returned to Urikaruus.

At Craig Lockhardt a jackal was taking a break

This year we did not see as many swallow-tailed bee-eaters as last year, but this one was willing to pose

There were some animals at Dalkeith







We had a very strange sighting here as well – we were approached by two cars with open sunroofs and some children sticking out, sitting on the roof – how stupid was that!

On the road we saw a kori bustard



a common scimitar bill



and a ground squirrel.

And on our return to Urikaruus there was a western cattle egret at the waterhole
