Instant pop up tents do not last, I see them as disposables.

True, but great if you have to move around on daily basis with clients.

What about an icemachine when camping in KTP during Dec. Thats a must and at least a 120m electrical cable in case you did not get a camping site with power. -O

We normally forget matches/ firelighter and once all the meat at home. Luckily not the beer. -O -O The important stuff for me is lights that work, torches, chairs, Leatherman or Gerber tool and a pump (not the one you thinking of BO ) for the blow-up mattress.

I've braaied before without a braaigrid at Port St Johns when you still required a passport, but the best is to remember to pack one.

The ideal thing for banging in tent pegs is a nylon panelbeater's hammer. They are made of heavy duty nylon with a lead weight in the head and they last forever - I've had mine for about 20 years.

Thor's tentpeg hammer! About 30cm long and weighing in at just over 1Kg.

How many torches do you take along on a (proper destination without electric plugs) camping trip, and how many do you own in total ?
