Re: 5 COUNTRIES IN 6 WEEKS
Paris is my favourite Capital, but I try to avoid Les Champs-Elysees; it is not what it used to be I far prefer the smaller streets close to Place Vendôme. Obviously you saw something in the evening that made it worthwhile

Re: 5 COUNTRIES IN 6 WEEKS
magnificent
the train... English's train
then Eurostar... under the see
I love la Place de la Concorde, l'Arc-de Triomphe, la Tour Eiffel and "left side"
like Liz said, a very nice city
Le Tour de France will run around l'Arc de Triomphe, for the last piece (in 2 weeks), then Champs-Elysées... till la Place de la Concorde

Re: 5 COUNTRIES IN 6 WEEKS
Lets finish off our holiday.
20 August continued.
We returned to Avenue Des Champs-Elysees for dinner.
Joan got this lovely night shot looking down towards the Arc de Triomphe.
After dinner we walked up to a vantage point to view the Eiffel Tower. It was all lit up. Suddenly all the lights on tower starting flashing which unfortunately the camera could not pick up.
This photo also shows the lovely fountain in front of the tower.
Here is a video of the sparkling tower as well a stunt roller skater.
21 August 2005 - Paris and back to London.
No photos.
22 August 2005
Kens birthday tomorrow so we celebrated it today.
No photos.
23 August 2005.
Went back into London to see changing of the guard - I just love all that pomp and ceremony - and the Horse Guards.
A walk through a lovely park.

Back into central London.
A final look at Nelsons column in the fading light.
Went to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium.
24 August 2005.
Fly back to Johannesburg.
A sincere thank you to all the folk that stayed on board with us and especially for all the kind comments. This really makes writing a TT like this so worthwhile.
Joan and I hope that you will be able to join us on our next trip to England - Canada and Scotland in 2007.
