Re: Improvements to the Forums
I have a terrible doubt, which I hope will be denied, but it seems that if there is no competition or a personal interest a lot of members could not care less about certain topics. For the "AW Pic of the Day" I have received photos from 4 members
The AW Photo of the day was invented (I think) in order to show photos a bit different from the usual photos that are shown in the "Pic of the Month". It does not have to be a great pic, but possibly a different from the usual pic or a funny pic, even a slightly blurred pic is welcome, if it has something special about it.
Those who have no intention going to KTP, do not look at the KTP topics and the same goes for Addo and other smaller parks. This creates a split on the forum.
In my opinion it should be the other way around. It is more interesting to read about something new that you do not know instead of always touring the Kruger Park. Someone might even find it interesting and want to go there. Maybe not this year but some time in the future.
DEAR AW MITES TAKE OFF THE BLINDERS AND TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT!!!

Re: Improvements to the Forums
you are so right
it is very difficult to get pictures out of the ordinary ... everyone wants to flaunt these photos, rather than giving something different
and "only" very few people

Lis..pics are nice, but not the core business of AW?
Personally I would like more members to contribute on the "serious" threads?
But I think it's fine!

Lis - I don't want to debate this but feel I should explain from my side.Lisbeth wrote:I have a terrible doubt, which I hope will be denied, but it seems that if there is no competition or a personal interest a lot of members could not care less about certain topics. I have been told off about my pics so many times... you know, there are pics and there pics...
I am laughing about it, ' cos maybe my heart isn't visible to all when they look at my pics.
Naaaaahh, the times nominated I can even count on one hand. - don't think I would send my pics in for more critics.
And please, I really am not sore about it - I understand.
BTW, nice to hear you encourage us.

Re: Improvements to the Forums
Amoli, I have seen so many nice pics that you have made. The AW Pic of the Day is not a question of quality, but more about peculiarity and I am sure that you one or three in a drawer somewhere
