Repeat of the September "Work" trip

Post by RogerFraser »

September rolled around again and an opportunity for a work trip to Pretoria and Hazeyview sites so of course a detour to Kruger was added to the plans .

We drove to site in Pretoria and left in the late afternoon driving to Millys for a night stayover . It was a very nice accommodation setup for the night with view over the dam.

We left early the next morning and had to take a detour due to the N4 being blocked with a truck accident so we did a scenic trip through Sabie to Hazeyview site for the next days work .After wards we left the site and drove through Phabeni gate on the way to Pretoriuskop .

Just onto the S3 a baby punk Giraffe

and a waterbuck lying in the shade as it was a hot afternoon

We turned onto the H1 headed towards Pretorius and Spots appeared creeping across infront of us

It was stalking some Kudu  maybe just practising or a youngster as it did not seem big enough to take down a Kudu
Image

The did not seem aware of the Leopard and eventually the stalking moved into the dense bush and we could not see the hunter or Prey.
Image

we waited a while but nothing moved so we went to check into camp very happy with the start to the trip .

After unpacking we went for a quick drive as it was quite late . Looping around Pretoriuskop and down to Shiltahwe dam

A little buck froze for its photo to be taken but not much else was around close to camp .
Image

At the dam a kite kept swooping down to grab something lying in the parking area we could not make out if it was a squashed bug or something dropped but it did eventualy grab it and flew off

A Grey Heron was in the distance but not much else was about .

We eventually left back to camp and watched the sunset on the sand road into the side of Camp
