Must say I am not a winter beach fan, Mel,
but with the weather now here and the birds you saw I simply give it a try one day for a short holiday

Re: My second (or third?) home: Föhr
Only a few to add this time. My back had been killing me back in July and there was no way I'd be able to lift my camera with the long lens to hunt the birds where we usually go to. So it was armchair birding, but still quite entertaining For the first three days or so, we hadn't seen a single stork. Hence, we went to visit them in their home and after that they were coming to the surrounding roofs each morning and later afternoon respectively. Holiday on the island is not a holiday without seeing the storks...
Also, there was a fascinating display of all sorts of seagulls circling above the little village of Wyk. Unfortunately all my videos are a total blur, so they have been binned.
Seagull against the beautifully blue sky
And these two were sighting on a window sill just across from our balcony. They stayed there the whole afternoon and I had quite some fun watching them getting fed and listening to their rackets.
HEY!?! WHAT ABOUT ME???!

God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.
