She crossed the road and carried on stalking, until she realised that gemsbok were probably a bit too big to place on her dinner plate alone.
After giving up she returned to the other side of the road and wandered off into the long grass
Back at camp, the usual. Sundowners and a stunning sunset.

Hmz... I'm confused now. This is Hanri and she should have had some cubs with her

Friday 14th May 2021
Our morning drive up to Melkvlei, back to Kij Kij and a short trip out and back along the lower dune road, was so quiet that we don’t have even one photograph of the drive
Back in camp at Rooiputs, Martin and Claudia popped in for a visit and informed us that we had missed seeing Gorid at Melkvlei. We were there too early.
They did mention that they had left her sleeping on the ridge on the left hand side of the road heading up to the lookout point above the waterhole.
Once they had continued down to TR, we decided to go and have a look see.
We hit the jackpot.
We spotted her still asleep behind a rocky outcrop
We decided to wait it out. Nothing else to do really
Eventually she got up and walked up onto the ridge behind her.

She carried on posing as only Gorid can
And eventually after walking up towards the parking area she moved down the other side down onto the road
Not for long though because she soon move back off the road and flushed out a cape fox from it’s den

The fox escaped and Gorid found another spot to just chill.
