Hi all, I am not deputized - just fanatical about TUSKERS ! !

When-ever I see photos of what might be a new tusker I go out of my way to ID him and when I succeed in identifying him I am actually disappointed to know it is not a new tusker. lol

100ponder wrote:Hi Pumbaa, a bit of photoshopping and I am convinced you have seen Mahlahini !

The general area, slow tusk curviture, narrow spread of tusks and the shallow notch with a protrusion at the notch's lower side convinces me that the photos are of Mahlahini.

Also sharp LH tusk tip and slightly blunt RH tusk tip.

Thanks so much 100ponder for your help.

Could in fact be him and funny is that we saw him already in February 2008 - Good to see such big boys again after years ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

Hi All,

Back home.... :-( :-( :-(
Elly and I have had a wonderful time in Kruger.
Not many tuskers seen, but a lot of other great, wonderful, special, emotional sightings.
So it looks like I have to write a "few" travel tales O** O**

Seen:
Babyboom, 1 million Impala, many tortoises and kudu and ehhhh, and.... and..... and........ yesss... also...and yeppp that too.....

Some hints?
A look out is a place to look out for ? ...(in terms of take care) =O: =O:
A hide is a place to hide for ? ....
To see one is special but 3 on a row within 45 minutes is breathtaking making you confused for several hours
Satara had a special surprize for us
On "hunt" for almost an hour with ?.....
and much more...
Smile..... enough cliffhangers to book for some travel tales ? (and yes I will post them at the right forum) :-) :-)

As said not many named tuskers but I met a special friend for a "whisper conversation" for about at least one hour
may be a new tusker.... met him at very short distance , wowww... what thick tusks this guy has...
and may be a new tusker cow
Another named one between 25 other bulls in the north.... 26 bulls together around a waterhole... what a challenge to capture that one tusker

A great pleasure was meeting up with several mites and friends

Okie and Pumbaa: great sightings and posts, Okie, have not seen that Machachule or look-alike yet ;-) and 100ponder... great ID work ^Q^

Tired after travelling and trying to get used to the diffrence in temperature....brrrrr... from 37 to 2 celcius...

see you later 0/*
