On the one chance that we stayed in B&D we had an apprentice allocating us to such a family cottage.
Quite nice and roomy if it's only for the two of us. Unfortunately, the duty manager arrived half an
hour later and kicked us out again

The guesthouse was paid for, Mello, but just base rate, so had to add one less person, I think? Can't remember, but it was more about getting in early...very accommodating!

Right, we settled in! The Le Roux guesthouse has the typical eccentric construction of the rest of Berg&Dal, and the other older guesthouses in Kruger!

There is a "Mommy and Daddy's Room" at the far end, with its own bathroom and verandah, so one only needs to come out of there for food!





Amid the luxury there are strange things like scattered bricks and metal spikes embedded in the ground near the braai area...I rearranged stuff a bit as I knew someone would stumble around there at some stage that night...I often get injured on the trips, dunno if anyone has noticed?

Fortunately I have learned to kick stones and logs over in the bush before picking them up!

Now Vim and ASA were in the army decades ago, and went into typical SA crimewave mode...



Asa: "Slaan dekking!"

Vim: "Women and children into the house and stock the cooler!"

RP: "Ok!"

Asa: "Voorwarts mars!"

Vim: "Waar is my aapjas?"

Monkey: "HAND OVER ALL YOUR FLOOD AND VALUELESS INDEFINITELY!"


I am quite the military tactician myself, and ran inside bravely!
Actually I closed all the doors and windows, just in time as another monkey was sneaking in the back door!
Back at the front Vim was hurling objects at the monkey with gay abandon, nearly injuring Asa in the process...






Asa: "Friendly fire, friendly fire!"

Vim: "No, traitors in the ranks!"

RP: "I have you covered from the bathroom here!"

Vim: "Prepare to die, monkey!"

Monkey: "DUCK YOU! I SHALL NEVER SUSPENDER!"


After a while the middle-aged freedom fighters took a chair and were authorised by battalion headquarters to glare at will...





Vim: "I'll sue your ass!"

Asa: "Pant pant..."

Monkey: "BRICKS AND BONES MAY BREAK MY STICKS, BUT WON'T HEART ME!"


Anyway, we won the day!

Asa, being a bit of a "poor financial performer", has a very good habit of not wasting food, which one should always do! We had made far too much meat the previous night, as usual, so instead of making new brunch, they put the leftover meat in a pot with onions and what not. Delicious!

Pesky Monkeys

One was entered my bungalow through the window of the bathroom... almost entirely closed
I had to negociate with it... it was on the bed ready to do the mess... slowly... very slowy I opened the door/window (wrong side... side where the monkey was ) and waited, without sudden movements until it ran outside
then I let a paper... " please don't open the window in the bathroom"

this guesthouse seems to be agreable ... except for the horrible visitor
and leftover too

Yikes to the spider! Good idea to kick stuff before lifting it And no... never noticed you being a man with all your injuries

Of course, food leftovers are used up (But I took notice of this variety - we usually just have it with mustard or sweet chili sauce.)
