Thanks for the responses..
Blu tuna - did you not mean sigma 150-500 instead of nikkor because I can't find that one @ online stores..
Nikon 200-500 f5.6 R20 000
Sigma contemporary 150-600 f5-6.3 R14500
Sigma sport 150-600 R24-26k( completely out)
I also seen the discontinued sigma 150-500 apo f5-6.3 for 9500-10000...
Between the sigma contemporary 150-600 and the sigma 150-500 and the nikon 200-500 ( apparently very good).
In your guys opinion what would ypi suggests..
I'm obviously looking for the 10k 150-500 but I'm willing to save up abit for the 150-600 or the nikon 200-500, between these 2 which one you think is best and Howmuch of a difference will it make compared to the sigma 150-500..
Sorry for the long complicated essay :-#
Just so confused because they all just overwhelming
Thank you :)
Nikon d5300 or equivalent

Re: Nikon d5300 or equivalent
PB, I have the Sigma 150-500 and love it, but if you can stretch your budget I'm sure the 150-600 is the better lens.
Re: Nikon d5300 or equivalent
The Sigma 150-500 is obsolete, it was a good lens for its time but has been far surpassed by the newer lenses. It is two generations older than the Sigma 150-600 Sport, the Tamron 150-600mm G2 and the Nikkor 200-500mm and that would be noticeable in the image sharpness, the focusing speed and accuracy and the Optical Stabilisation.
My advice - save up for the newer lens, whichever one you chose it will be far better than the old Sigma 150-500mm.
(and yes, I did mean the Nikkor 200-500 in my previous email).

Re: Nikon d5300 or equivalent
I think I'll save up 20k or wait for an special to save and couple G's for the 200-500 nikon f5.6... I'm in no hurry atm.. Don't have time to go to the park, busy opening up a new business so time and energy is not on my side currently..
I've really been saving .. But still grateful that I have this opportunity :)

Re: Nikon d5300 or equivalent
I'm.either going fir the sigma 150-600 for 14k
Or
Save up alil longer for either the 200-500 nikon or tamron 150-600 g2(some price)give or take 1500.
Need to do some more reae which is better if I'm spending the 20k or I'll just go for the sigma 150-600 :)

Re: Nikon d5300 or equivalent
It not reach in metres, it's magnification.
On a full frame camera, 50mm = 1x, 100mm = 2x, 150mm = 3x, 500mm = 10x etc.
Because a crop-frame camera's sensor is smaller and has an area about 2/3 of a full frame camera, you get more magnification for a given lens by about 50%
That means a 150-500mm lens will go from 4.5x to 15x on a crop frame camera (your D5300 is one of those)
a 150-600mm lens = 4.5x to 18x
a 200-500mm lens = 6x to 15x
BUT, of the three lenses you mentioned above the best lens would be the Nikkor 200-500mm because it is sharper and will allow you to crop your images smaller and still get better results than the other two lenses.
