Tuesday 15 September. Mata Mata.

Up early this morning as out as the sun rose.

In the early light, another Spotted Eagle Owl.

Then we came up to what passes as a traffic jam in the KTP. Three cars stopped with the occupants staring into a large Camelthorn tree. Then we saw movement - Wild Cat!

It jumped from the tree and raced off at high speed.

Then another one appeared giving chase in a leisurely fashion.

I took lots of pictures of this Tawny Eagle which was messing about in the top of a tree.

A rare opportunity; Crimson Breasted Shrike in full sunlight.

The Ground Squirrels had raided a tent and grabbed an apple which the Suricates then took charge of. The Suricates were very possessive of their apple and wouldn't let the Squirrels have it back.

But one of the Squirrels was very persistent and eventually managed to grab its prize and make off with it.

Amazing action shots of the wild cat, the tawny, the meerkat(s)interacting with the squirrel(s), the secretary etc. And then another wild cat - splendid!
Plus a most beautiful sunset *sigh*

Don't buy the story tourist are being fed... There must be a good reason why someone who has studied anthrax says it is exactly that *twisted*

Thanks for the info on the progress at Nossob. Will copy it over to the developments if you're good with it.

Oh, and the five cheetah at Melkvlei are probably Corinne (sister of Hanri) and her first set of offspring. Probably not long anymore before those are on their own as well.
