Shame it was actually a baby Foal taken out of a herd and the mother was calling 50 metres away

A PJL visit from 2014:

We continued on to Mlondozi and cooked up some lunch which was a tricky affair due to some very brazen vervets. The kids retreated to the car to eat theirs
The panorama at Mlondozi is amazing. Looking down from the viewpoint we could see a good array of animals including a black stork (which I hear is not so common), giraffe blending in to the scenery as well as the mass of hippo on the banks.
Some of the little hippos decided it was time for a swim so dragged their parents along for company

Re: Mlondozi Picnic Site
Early December, Mlondozi Dam was completely empty. There was water only in the artificial waterhole that we usually don't see at the bottom of the dam.

I have never seen the dam completely empty like that I did not even know that there is a man-made waterhole.

Very interesting, Dingwe!
So is the waterhole inside the dam? I thought it was off to the south a bit, under the picnic site as I recall?
