As the weather was not so great we could not use all the facilities but still a great place to stay at a 1/3 of the price of a KNP hut lol

To stay at Marloth is not a bad option. It does limit the roads that you can drive, but staying only for such a short time, this is not really relevant \O

We once stayed for a month, but as you can enjoy Marloth as well, it was not bad at all and I might do it again this coming summer (yours ;-) ).

Wild dogs do not seem to be such a rare sighting as it used to be, but still great if they are not fast asleep ;-)

A pity about the weather :-( A risk that you cannot avoid in that period.

29th February 2020

As the previous day had been a long drive, we took it easy on this day and took a drive up the H4-2 to Lower Sabie for breakfast.

The Wild Dogs from the previous day had moved a few meters up the road but were still asleep in the bush next to the road.

We stopped at Lower Sabie, had Mug & Bean muffins and chicken pies from the takeaway. Must say that the chicken pot pie was awesome !! O\/

We had skipped the Dukes waterhole loop (S130/S137/S28), so agreed to go back and do this look the drive up to the S79 causeway.

About 1 kilo along the S137 we came up to a group of cars with a Leopard in the tree. The dirt road only fits one car at a time, so I was expecting a long wait. All at the sighting were very well behaved and the cars pulled off on both sides of the road leaving the middle open for cars to pass through.

This was a young Leopard with a kill.

The Leopard found the cars very interesting and was watching every movement that was made by anyone in a car.
