Hi RP,
the big in stature bull you saw on the S28 is DZUWENI.
Is this the only pic you have or do you have some more ? Please send them so I can update his page.

I haven't been around for some time because of some good reasons.

Hi 100ponder,
I am not sure it's the same one. Personally I think it's a different bull. One of the reasons is that his tusks do have a different thickness looking at the old pictures and these ones.
100ponder wrote: Fri Dec 07, 2018 1:58 pm I must say that this "Satara" elephant has a rectangular notch quite similar to the Satara as listed by Aat in the "TUSKERS OF YESTERDAY" chapter of Aat's TUSKERSOFAFRICA.

It appears that Johan Marais has taken his photo as on the SANPARKS "Emerging Tuskers Pages" well before I made the photos ( Dec. 2004 ) which are published on Aat's TUSKERS OF YESTERDAY.

It is now quite some 14 years later which gives much time for tusk degradation as well as all sorts of new bodily markings like the swellings and wrinkles on the trunk of the ellie pictured above's ---- Aat, what do you think, could this ellie be the original SATARA that is in his twilight years roaming the bush North of Satara ?

Back from kruger and with some "delay" I like to show a special meeting with my old friend KALEKA. Looking back , I met him during 7 different trips and in total 14 times. This trip I have seen him on 4 different days. I think I can say he is special to me. This time he also offered me to pose with him together near a picknic place. :-) :-)

Here some pics of him (November 6th, 12th, 14th and 16th.)
